We strongly support a rich open weight model ecosystem - this letter is going in the right direction on that issue.

We also believe that companies have the right to disallow distillation if they choose to do so, and we help the labs that set it in their terms. There should be competitive markets for both types of model labs.

This is critical to keeping access to models as open as possible, which is what we're all about. It should be a separate issue from America's open weight market, which very much needs to be open itself
