Claude Code introduces a new /checkup command (announced by @bcherny on 2026-07-08) that streamlines repo upkeep: it cleans unused skills/plugins, deduplicates and restructures CLAUDE.md files, disables slow hooks, updates the tool, enables auto mode, and pre-approves common read-only commands—confirming with you before applying changes.
