Brief

LinkedMash founder spent 20 days chasing a $2k MRR target; on Day 21 revenue was $242.50 (+$7 MRR). A review of paying users revealed customers at Microsoft, AMD, Nike, Bosch, and Traefik, with heavy usage (Traefik 4,522 API calls; Microsoft 3,911; AMD 35,638 posts saved, 78 labels). Several had reported bugs/features without naming employers, so he added Traefik to the landing page and realized traction was a single DB query away.

Source evidence

Spent 20 days chasing $2k MRR.
Never once checked who was already paying.

Day 21 of 100, taking LinkedMash to $2k MRR. Current: $242.50 (+$7.00 MRR).

Every morning is the same loop. Ship something. Open the chart. Watch
it move by $7.

Ran a proper look at the paid base yesterday. Not for growth. For pricing.

One line in the output was about where these people work.
Microsoft. AMD. Nike. Bosch. Traefik.

Went further today. The employers turned out to be the smaller half of it:

someone at Traefik: 4,522 API calls
someone at Microsoft: 3,911 API calls
someone at AMD: 35,638 posts saved, 78 labels

Three of these five have written to me before. Every message was a bug
report or a feature request. Not one mentioned where they worked.

The Traefik one asked in May whether saved posts could import
automatically. Then went and did it himself. 4,522 calls later.

Put them on the landing page the same day.

Was refreshing a revenue chart for 20 days. The proof was one query
away, in my own database.
