The Biggest Tank Battle You've Never Heard of #ww2 #worldwar2 #easternfront #barbarossa #soviet

Brief

Cain's presentation (video) examines a large but little-known 1941 Eastern Front tank engagement during Operation Barbarossa. It highlights that six Soviet corps attacked at different times and stresses that tank-count estimates vary widely — some sources claim around 6,000 vehicles — while T-34 and KV numbers were limited in 1941 and grew later. Why it matters

Cain's video analyzes a large, little-known 1941 Eastern Front tank engagement during Operation Barbarossa involving six Soviet corps; the attacks of those corps were not simultaneous.

Key details

  • Tank-strength figures are disputed — some sources claim up to ~6,000 vehicles involved — but the presenter is skeptical, noting T-34 and KV tank counts were relatively low in 1941 and increased later that year.
Source evidence

Sadly, I couldn't include because of time constraint, but to be clear the attacks of the 6 soviet corps were not simultaneous.
Also, as I've seen tank numbers are somewhat disputed, which fluctuates if you count that especially on the soviet side many tanks were not operational on the battle (some sources even mentioning up to 6000 tanks being involved, though I'm a bit sceptical given the general state these forces were in and on paper how big they should be). Also It is approximately half the number of t-34 and KV tanks, both having relatively low numbers in 1941, but producing way more down the line this year, I guessed based on the numbers I have seen online and in the books lying around in my general vicinity.
