The Doctor Who Terrified Hitler

Brief

The Doctor Who Terrified Hitler is a roughly 20-minute video presentation by Rare Earth (published 2026-05-23) that uses the evocative title as a springboard to investigate the history of Esperanto. The episode grew substantially beyond an originally planned six-minute piece after the creator and his wife visited a Viennese museum, an experience he credits with inspiring deeper research and changing his perspective. The description emphasizes the research-driven workflow, thanks a long list of Patreon backers by name, and directs viewers to supporting platforms (Patreon, Ko-fi), early-release hosting on Nebula, and the channel's Instagram. Metadata in the description notes the file was created 2026-03-11 and last updated 2026-04-04; the video mixes historical storytelling with personal reflection prompted by the museum visit.

Source evidence

When I started researching this episode I had little to no knowledge about the history of Esperanto. I imagined it was just a kooky language for people who liked being extra. So I'm really happy that my wife and I ended up wandering around that Viennese museum last year because the inspiration it gave me to learn all this stuff has really helped frame how the world operates in my head. If you're in Vienna, I suggest you do the same.

I thought this was going to be a six minute episode and then somehow it ended up as twenty, hence the slight delay. I'm noticing that sometimes that happens when a story gets juicier than I planned. Hope you enjoy it!
