Unlimited Flights Around The World | How 'Non-Rev' Travel Works

Brief

Swayne Martin’s tutorial-style video (published 2022-11-06, filmed with United Airlines approval) explains how non-rev/space-available travel works: check eligibility, request standby space, and rely on seniority rules. He covers ZED/interline fares, jumpseating, typical taxes/fees, and gives concrete examples (Chicago→Brazil, Chicago→Warsaw on LOT, $92 business to Switzerland) to show how employees can travel globally for minimal cost.

Why it matters

Non-rev (space-available or “SA”) travel lets airline employees and eligible travellers ride for little or no fare but only if a seat is available; priority is governed by seniority rather than check-in time.

Key details

  • Cross-airline ZED fares and interline agreements let employees travel on partner carriers (example: Chicago → Warsaw on LOT Polish); flight crew can also use jumpseating to occupy cockpit jumpseats when allowed.
  • Swayne Martin (video published 2022-11-06) says he’s flown hundreds of non-rev trips to every continent, giving examples like scoring business class to Switzerland for $92 and noting non-rev still incurs taxes/fees.

Your Path to United Airlines: https://bit.ly/UALPilotApplication ... One of the best parts of being an airline employee is the chance to travel around the world nearly cost-free. I've flown hundreds of times using these perks, touching every continent, sometimes in first or business class! Non-revenue travel (called nonrevving) is something nearly all airline employees share, so you don't have to be flight crew like me to enjoy it. It's often called flying space-available or "SA," because space has to be available on the plane for you to get a seat. Non-rev travel has made the world a lot smaller, putting otherwise unaffordable trips within reach.
