@0xd1namit claims Polymarket effectively pays them a "salary" by executing limit…

Brief

Polymarket pays the author a steady income by providing maker rebates when they place limit orders to hedge sportsbook bets and capture bonus-system inefficiencies. The author notes those rebates appeared only after Polymarket added fees, so the tactic wouldn’t have yielded this income earlier, and says they would be very upset if rebates are removed.

Why it matters

@0xd1namit claims Polymarket effectively pays them a "salary" by executing limit (maker) orders while hedging sportsbook bets to exploit sportsbook bonus systems.

Key details

  • Maker rebates enabling that income were introduced only after Polymarket implemented fees; the same strategy would not have earned rebates prior to those fee-and-rebate changes.
  • The author is positive about the rebates and warns they will be "very upset" if Polymarket removes the maker rebates.

Polymarket pays me a salary just for trading with limit orders

This is a screenshot from my account where I hedge sportsbook bets to rob their bonus systems

The most interesting part is that if I had been doing the exact same thing before all the changes that came with Polymarket fees, I wouldn’t have earned any of this, because maker rebates only appeared after fees were introduced

So personally, I don’t think everything is that bad. But if they remove the rebates, I’ll obviously be very upset
