Trump keeps trying to talk Iran into making a deal by saying discussions are ongoing but Iran is holding firm in their demands and pushing back on Trump’s false narrative. This will not be an easy situation for Trump to simply walk away from, especially if Iran still controls the passage of traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and the price of oil remains elevated.
