Hard to see why Iran would trust Trump at all, and there has been no confirmation from Iran they are interested in any negotiations. It could very well be a ploy to by Trump to make this announcement to calm the markets and buy time to move US military personnel into position to engage Iran on the ground, as the saying goes wars are easy to start but hard to end.
