In case you haven't seen this: Dr. Qiusheng Wu (@giswqs) - the most important geographer working today, in my opinion - has built GeoLibre, a modern, web-native Geographic Information Systems platform.

It's free, open-source, and available across platforms.

It incorporates the latest innovations in both data formats and web mapping tech.

It's the best example of "modern software" I've seen in the post-LLM world. This is industry-changing stuff.
