Author @rivatez reports 'dozens' of dramatic recoveries

Brief

Rivatez shares firsthand optimism: dozens of friends reversed chronic or catastrophic prognoses. They argue physicians set conservative expectations, that optimism and the somatic mind–body link (citing John Sarno) can drive recovery, and recommend two clinicians (Dr Ryan in LA, Dr Mantzourani on Harley St) plus stress-testing diagnoses with AI/LLMs like @AskVenice.

Why it matters

Author @rivatez reports 'dozens' of dramatic recoveries: friends with mysterious chronic conditions overturned, people told they'd never walk who were running months later, and individuals living years after life support was expected to be withdrawn.

Key details

  • Key factors highlighted: clinicians' conservative expectations, the 'unfathomable' value of optimism, and a deep mind–body link—cites somatic research and John Sarno's back-pain work as broadly relevant.
  • Practical advice: seek optimistic functional/eastern clinicians (Dr Ryan in LA and Dr Mantzourani on Harley St, London — both offer video consults), stress-test diagnoses and use AI/LLMs (e.g., @AskVenice) to research international, historical, and disciplinary disagreements.

if this bring anyone optimism, i know dozens of incredible health success stories. friends with mysterious deliberating / chronic health issues that were overthrown, to people being told they would never walk again and running months later, or even living years after a supposed fatal situation where life support was supposed to be turned off

a few takeaways i’ve paid attention to:

1) doctors are conservative by trade and have to set expectations low- be mindful of this

2) the value of optimism - both from the ‘ill’ person and the people they surround themselves with is unfathomable - what the mind can do to the body when it is given permission to consider alternatives is crazy

3) the mind <> body link goes deep. It’s worth looking into somatic research and thinkers like John Sarno- his back pain book is relevant to much broader situations beyond pain. Your mind can make your body turn on itself (and the inverse)

4) an optimistic functional medicine doctor who is willing to test things that conventional doctors won’t can be a game changer. I’ve found two docs who are best in class for this who i’ve recommended and have helped many friends - one in LA who combines eastern medicine with functional medicine (Dr Ryan), who is linked in a reply to the below tweet, and the other in London (Dr Mantzourani on Harley St). They both consult to anyone via video calls

5) it’s worth stress testing diagnoses, and AI makes it easier now. research stuff and get LLMs to explain things to you. ask how these issues are handled in other countries and health systems, or even in different points in history, across the 20th-21st century, but even earlier (!). look into controversies or disagreements in the field. Cycle between different LLMs including ones trained in different countries (@AskVenice makes it easy to flip between them)

hope this is helpful to someone

I need to hear success stories. For those of who you fully healed from their mysterious chronic health issues, what did you do?
