Brief

Elkim (@ElkimXOC) argues that fat isn't all bad—adipose tissue can be essential and protective—but warns that belly/visceral fat is harmful. He emphasizes metabolic function (particularly beta‑oxidation) over mere leanness, rejects calorie counting as overly simplistic given pathways like leptin, the Krebs cycle and ETC, and recommends strict circadian alignment with the solar cycle to lower disease risk.

Why it matters

Key details

  • Elkim claims adipose tissue is essential and can be protective; health effects vary by fat type and anatomical location, and depend importantly on mitochondrial beta‑oxidation efficiency.
  • He dismisses simple calorie counting as inadequate, invoking the Leptin pathway, Krebs cycle, and Electron Transport Chain as key bioenergetic factors, and advises tightly syncing the circadian system to the solar cycle to reduce disease risk.

Yep I love fat

Belly fat is bad though

Just FYI fat is not all bad, it's actually essential and can be/is protective. It depends on what kind of fat and where. More important is how well beta-oxidation is working. Being lean is good rule of thumbs but going just after that can be dangerous. Counting calories doesn't make really sense as there are shitload of stuff that affects the thermodynamical input/output and the whole bioenergetics like Leptin pathway, Krebs Cycle, Electron Transport Chain and so and so.

Best way to stay from diseases is to keep your circadian system tightly synced to solar cycle.
