To my knowledge, this is the first case to rule on an important but underappreciated component of CA state housing law:
Within 30 days, cities must provide the reasons a project does not comply with zoning/standards. Otherwise, it is deemed compliant and can't be denied.

Last month, an SF Superior Court judge ruled that this 7-unit project at 1736 Filbert St. in the Marina District must be approved.
The ruling overturned the city's determination that the project was not eligible for the State Density Bonus.
