SpaceX does NOT need to acquire Tesla to reach $1T in revenue by ~2030 and the math is simple
If we assume:
• $40/W (the midpoint of Elon's guess for Vera Rubin)
• External Cloud Service Agreements (CSAs) at 90% (Elon guessed only 10% of compute would be required internally for inference + Grok)
• Utilization of 85% (data centers don't run at 100%)
• SpaceX's AI division would need to generate ~$800B in revenue by 2030 (leaving Connectivity and Launch to cover the remaining ~$200B)
Those assumptions would only require ~26 GW of operational compute by 2030
SpaceX will exit 2026 with 2 GW. Future years:
'27 - 7 GW (250% growth)
'28 - 12 GW (71%)
'29 - 18 GW (50%)
'30 - 26.1 GW (45%)
These are the compute numbers required for SpaceX to hit $800B from CSA revenue in 2030
So there is a plausible path to $1T in revenue WITHOUT a Tesla acquisition. Of course this has many assumptions built in and the landscape is changing quickly. Starmind will change things and many companies will do everything they can do vertically integrate themselves
But this is not some moonshot product/service. It's already here and being scaled
Few understand $TSLA $SPCX
