This is the best argument for why the close primary in Michigan could actually help Democrats in the general election by pushing El-Sayed to reach out more explicitly to moderate voters.

Probably a good thing that the Michigan primary outcome was so close and that it was such a surprise to so many. Might get AES to work harder to (1) unite the party; and (2) reach some of the constituencies that Stevens overperformed with.
