Brief

Luka Filipovic (@lukasplinter) recounts grinding 14‑hour workdays that left him caffeinated and nicotine‑dependent, sleeping at 4:00 a.m., and largely ignoring a nearby beach he visited only three times over three months. He argues the money wasn't worth the bodily cost and prescribes simple daily habits: morning sun, quitting stimulants, consistent sleep, and daily movement.

Why it matters

On 2026-08-05 Luka Filipovic (@lukasplinter) said he lived three months ten minutes from the beach but went only three times while grinding 14‑hour days, relying on Monster energy and Zyn nicotine, sleeping at 4:00 a.m., and earning a lot of money at the cost of his physical health.

Key details

  • His actionable fixes: get sun before screens in the morning; cut energy drinks and nicotine completely (not taper); adopt real sleep on a regular schedule instead of 4:00 a.m.; and move your body daily, even just a walk.

I've been close to where you are and it's brutal, so respect for posting it.

This is just a reminder for you guys to actually take care of your health.

I was in a similar position to this guy when I was grinding 14 hour days, obsessed with making money and sacrificing my health for it in the process.

I spent three months living ten minutes from the beach and went three times.

Monster every morning, Zyn all day, asleep at 4am, five minutes of sun before going back inside to work.

Yeah, I made a lot of money, but the impact it has on your body is not worth it.

And to fix it you don't need a 17 step morning routine.

→ Sun before screens in the morning
→ Cutting the energy drinks and nicotine completely, not down, out
→ Real sleep on a real schedule instead of wearing 4am like a badge
→ Moving your body daily, even just a walk

That's it. Boring stuff done every day.
