Brief

Anthropic is facing a wave of public criticism on Twitter, according to @phosphenq's 2026-08-05 post, after perceived nerfs to models that once excelled (Opus 4.6/4.7). The author cites severe usage limits, hallucinations, costly $100/$200 paid tiers, unexplained account bans, and warns Chinese open-source alternatives could displace Claude users.

Why it matters

@phosphenq (post dated 2026-08-05) reports a mass backlash on Twitter with 'hundreds of posts' and influencers publicly canceling Anthropic and predicting a 'mass exodus' from Claude.

Key details

  • Author claims Anthropic 'nerfed' models after Opus 4.6/4.7, imposing 'brutal limits' and 'endless restrictions' that cause inconsistencies, errors and hallucinations, making paid tiers priced at $100/$200 'not worth the money.'
  • Post alleges widespread unexplained account bans and warns that Chinese open-source models could 'wash over everyone' and replace users if Anthropic doesn't change course.

Anthropic is DONE! they've pushed everyone over the edge!

i'm watching all of Twitter cancel Anthropic en masse, everyone's disappointed with the new models, hundreds of posts of big influencers souring on a company that once made an insane splash.

personally i remember how strong Opus 4.6/4.7 were, how easily they handled tasks of any complexity, and then Anthropic just decided to nerf every model, tons of restrictions, limits that get blown through in a single prompt.

brutal limits, endless restrictions, constant inconsistencies, errors and hallucinations.

paying $100/$200 for models that are absolutely not worth the money.

feels like the chinese open source stuff is gonna wash over everyone soon if Anthropic doesn't decide to change something.

and i haven't even touched on the bans, endless account bans for no reason at all, it's just grim.

what the hell is going on?

a mass exodus from Claude is coming, what are you all picking instead?
