There’s an event in less than two months gathering 250 buy‑and‑build specialists…

Brief

PrivatEquityGuy (Mikk Markus) urges proactive buy‑and‑build sourcing and is promoting an event in under two months with 250 buyers/builders (50% sold). He highlights speakers with heavy add‑on track records (Evergreen 160+, Iberian 30 in 48 months, Lindbergh 14) and contrasts this hands‑on approach with Sweden’s proven compounding holdco model.

Why it matters

There’s an event in less than two months gathering 250 buy‑and‑build specialists in one room; 50% of tickets are already sold and the organizer is different from the traditional annual Stockholm/March meeting.

Key details

  • Confirmed speakers include Ramsey of Evergreen Services Group (160+ acquisitions), Luis Reyes of Iberian (30 add‑ons in 48 months), Andrea Allegrini of Lindbergh (14 acquisitions); also a French holdco at $150M EBITDA and an Italian holdco at $120M EBITDA (both founded 2018/2019).
  • Author (Mikk Markus/@PrivatEquityGuy) advocates proactive deal sourcing—cold‑calling founders/brokers, meeting owner/operators, building investor relationships, attending events—and endorses the Swedish serial‑acquirer model (Lifco, Addtech, Lagercrantz, Indutrade): acquire profitable companies, place excellent operators, reinvest cash flows and repeat for 10+ years (compounding typically shows after 7–10 years).
Source evidence

Sitting in the office, waiting for the phone to ring...

Vs doing the complete opposite:

  • Always on the go
  • Cold-calling founders and brokers
  • Meeting owner/operators
  • Building relationships with investors while driving around towns/countries/continents

And... attending industry events and conferences.

With all that being said, there’s an event coming up in less than two months.

These results are far from typical... but Swedish serial acquirers have mastered an acquisition model that compounds shareholder value at an extraordinary rate.

  • Lifco
  • Addtech
  • Lagercrantz
  • Indutrade

Despite the sharp rise in interest rates over recent years, these holdcos have continued to generate excellent returns on capital while executing disciplined acquisition strategies.

  1. Acquire profitable companies at an attractive price,
  2. Have them run by an excellent operator,
  3. Reinvest the cash flows into more acquisitions,
  4. Repeat for 10+ years*

*The real magic of compounding typically becomes evident after 7-10 years.

So far, many of these serial acquirers have gathered only once a year, in Stockholm, and always in March.

Things have changed.

I got some great news...

There is another event coming. This time from a different organizer... with over 250 buyers and builders in one room.

It's great to see many of the podcast guests will be there as well.

You'll hear from Ramsey at Evergreen Services Group (160+ acquisitions), Luis Reyes from Iberian (30 add-ons in 48 months) and Andrea Allegrini of Lindbergh (14 acquisitions).

Also speaking:

A French holdco, now at $150M EBITDA
An Italian holdco, now at $120M EBITDA

(Both founded in 2018/2019.)

And many more buy-and-build specialists in one room, open to networking and sharing best practices.

I'll be sending all the details in my weekly newsletter. Link below.
