We, the royal we, are still discovering what agents need to be effective. As these things are discovered, there is a history of them requiring new distribution and discovery mechanisms.

We cannot keep living like this. Agent Plugins are a mechanism to install and update anything that an agent needs. Next time a new thing is invented it will fit right into plugins rather than having to invent yet another distribution mechanism.
