Their reasoning is simple:
If we don’t do it, someone else will (China or a rival company).
Even Sam Altman warned years ago that AI would most likely “lead to the end of the world.”
Meanwhile, many of the same billionaires pouring money into AI have been quietly building luxury bunkers for years.
They’re racing forward with no off switch… while preparing their own escapes.
