No, you can. It’s just deaths per billion vehicle miles. If we met the avg of the other countries listed below you would save >19,000 lives per year. 5x that of all fire deaths.
And unlike fire deaths many of these are preventable - we know exactly what works. Yet those who claim to speak for public safety are often the largest opponents.

I got a LOT of responses from firefighters. To each I included the below thread on (much) larger life safety considerations.
Almost none even acknowledged it & it seemed clear they didn’t bother to read it, think about it.
No matter where the conversation went, the outcome was “we need the big trucks we have, we cannot change anything, I don’t care.”
