A lesson I'm still learning:
It's surprisingly hard to separate friendship from business.
I've said yes because someone was a friend. I've later had to say no because it wasn't the right fit.
That wasn't about the person. It was about protecting the relationship instead of risking it through resentment or half-hearted work.
Honesty is uncomfortable. But it's kinder in the long run.
