The Beijing Puppets @zerohedge continue to report that China is winning the AI race basing it on OpenRouters data on token usage.
Remember that OpenRouter data is:
1) Developer-heavy: Mostly indie devs and AI tinkerers.
2) Price-driven: Users constantly chase the cheapest model.
3) No enterprise: Fortune 500 workloads bypass aggregators.
4) Open-weight bias: DeepSeek/Qwen are massively overrepresented.
You're sampling the people who optimize for free and cheap, not the people paying the bills.
ZeroHegde is (again) lying as they do on a running basis.
