The flaw that there is no emergency escape mode in all EVs allowed the gunman to walk up to Teslas and calmly shoot the passengers. While EVs are charging they are blocked and can’t drive, it’s like a brick.

They could do nothing but watch as he came up and aimed at them.

I’d probably try to press the gas pedal and scream at the car “go go” in that situation.
