“If software isn’t updated every day, that software is bad!”

I find that stance (which is incredibly common among the cults of the Open Source world: Rust, Leftists, etc.) to be truly bizarre.

If software works… leave it alone!

Lots of updates and changes, when they are needed, can make sense.

Updating for the sake of updating (or to “prove that you’re a good maintainer”) is just plain stupid and counter productive.
