Microsoft has confirmed it automatically installed a new OneDrive Photos app on some Windows 11 PCs.
The app includes AI-powered features, such as a “People” feature that groups photos by the people in them.
Microsoft says the facial grouping feature is off by default and photos are not used to train its AI models.
Users are not happy the app was installed automatically and cannot be uninstalled separately, removing it also removes OneDrive.
