openwork just reached 100k downloads. but what is openwork, exactly? openwork is an app that lets you share ai agents with friends and coworkers. we call them "workers." at minimum, a worker is just an llm with access to your filesystem and tools - think claude code/codex-style access. you can share workers in several ways: a) sharing your live running worker is a click away every openwork app is also a server. in two clicks, you can share your running worker on a local network or over the internet (for example, via tailscale). openwork automatically generates a url and access token - no setup needed. b) sharing your setup template is just a link each template gets its own share link! send that link to a friend/coworker, and they can instantly load the same skills, mcps, agents, etc. sometimes you want to share your setup, but not direct access to your computer. c) share parts of your setup in a similar way, you can share individual skills (or sets of skills) with a link in just a couple clicks. (and yes, everything above works fully free, and you do not even need to sign up.) d) share managed workers running things on your own machine is great for friends and family, but colleagues may need something more serious. that is why openwork has remote workers. we call it openwork den - a place where remote workers can live. (this requires a paid plan.)
