Devin received a major update on 2026-02-24 that speeds startup 3x, adds end-to-end computer-use testing, tighter Slack/Linear/GitHub integrations and Devin Review with Autofix. Founder Scott Wu cites METR results and ~100x capability gains from Opus 4.6/Codex 5.3; enterprise usage grew ~65x in 13 months and Cognition merged 659 Devin PRs last week.

Today, we are releasing one of the biggest updates to Devin since launch. The vision of Devin in 202

Today, we are releasing one of the biggest updates to Devin since launch. The vision of Devin in 2024 was to give everyone an AI software engineer that could build features, fix bugs, test its own code, and make PRs that you could review & merge. Most folks in code were still focused on tab-complete, but we wanted to build for the future instead.

We were very early (frankly too early) and only a few of the use cases that we envisioned were really possible at the time. It took two months post-launch for Devin to drive significant PRs in our own codebase, and another four to get ramped up at our first real enterprise customer. We had to manually onboard thousands of devs, and many who tried the self-serve version of our product didn’t even get past setting up their repos on Devin’s VM.

But it turns out that when you build for the future... eventually the future comes. In the time since we launched, capabilities have literally 100x'd. The latest METR results show that Opus 4.6 and Codex 5.3 have the ability to independently execute software tasks that would take 6+ hours of human work, compared to <5 minutes in 2024. Our focus was always on building the infrastructure and tooling to get the most out of these capabilities, and correspondingly, Devin usage at our enterprise customers doubled about every two months over the course of 2025 (we grew ~65x in the last 13 months).

And so, the product that we are launching today is just Devin, but with all the little fixes and improvements that matter. We've learned from our mistakes over the last couple years and done our best today to improve the product with those lessons. A few things that have made the experience noticeably better for me:
-improving Devin startup time by 3x,
-making the Slack & Linear integrations smoother and friendlier,
-adding support for end-to-end testing with computer use,
-bringing Devin Review into the Devin experience with Autofix and Github comments,
-and cleaning up hundreds of details with the UX, design, and functionality everywhere.

But the core form-factor is just good old Devin, with its async workflow, cloud VM, browser use, and Slack/Linear/Github integrations. The same form-factor that we always envisioned. Devin, but good.

Empirically, we've seen the difference ourselves - we merged 154 Devin PRs internally at Cognition in our best week in 2025 and we merged 659 PRs last week. And total Devin sessions per week across all our enterprise customers are growing even faster than they were last year, doubling in just the last six weeks. We still have a long way to go, but we'd love for you to give it a try, especially if you tried it earlier and it didn't quite work for you.
