wow it’s been 3 months already!
it feels like yesterday @jvheaney and i were excited to get into @ycombinator w26 batch
today we’ve presented at demo day and we’re deep in fundraising
the last 3 months felt like 2 years of work
yc forces you to find out quickly whether what you’re building actually matters
before, an iteration cycle could easily take weeks
you build something
wait for feedback
then decide what to do next
here, every 2 weeks you have to show real progress
that changes everything
you make decisions faster
run experiments sooner
and resolve things in weeks that would normally take months
everything starts to revolve around outcomes
we’re building @usegrade - the api for performance-based payroll
think of us like deel or gusto but for completed work instead of hours
companies use grade to pay contractors and ai agents based on results
we handle compliance tax reporting and global payouts
work is moving toward performance
and we’re building the infrastructure to support that shift
