GBrain v0.31.1 introduces MCP thin-client support, so users can run one central "home GBrain server" and have other devices connect over MCP. According to @garrytan (2026-05-10), thin clients operate "pretty close" to local performance, marking a shift from standalone operation to a client–server architecture.
GBrain v0.31.1 just shipped real MCP thin client support. So basically you can run ONE "home GBrain server" and everything else can just connect to it via MCP and it'll work pretty close to as well as running it locally.
GBrain just went client-server.
