Brief

Opendoor (Kaz Nejatian) posted an AI Ops Engineer role in Toronto that explicitly rewards applicants who apply solely using AI tools — including completing forms and creating documents — and who document their process; those applicants go straight to final-round interviews (2026-05-13). @Afinetheorem applauds the tactic and suggests it can be used to design creative tests of an "AI as a complement" skillset.

Love this: for an AI engineering job, you have to use AI only to apply for the job. I can think of very clever ways to do this that test whether the employee has a good "AI as a complement" skillset.

If you apply to this role ONLY using AI (including filling out the forms + creating the documents) & tell us how you did it, we’ll move you straight to final round interviews. Extra points for creativity.
