Notion, via a 2026-05-13 post by @simonlast and the Notion Developers account…

Brief

Notion, via a 2026-05-13 post by @simonlast and the Notion Developers account, introduced Workers — a hosted compute sandbox with Sync, Tools, and Webhooks APIs — and a new Developer Platform. The company frames this as lowering primitives and generalizing APIs to support the proliferation of coding agents and agent-driven integrations.

Source evidence

Coding agents are everywhere now, so Notion's primitives are going lower-level and more general.

We just shipped a new concept called Workers – it's a hosted compute sandbox with convenient APIs for:
- Sync: 2-way sync a Notion database with any external data source
- Tools: build secure custom tools for your agents to connect to any external system
- Webhooks: expose an endpoint any external service can call

New building blocks that help you (and your coding agents) sync any data source, build any tool, and orchestrate any agent.
