I've been a daily user for years — it's genuinely the first thing I open when I'm trying to figure out whether to bike to work or dodge a storm. Twenty-two years after launching as an independent site, and 18 years after joining The Washington Post as the Capital Weather Gang, they're back on their own at capitalweather.com with a new app to boot.
They're keeping core forecasts free, which matters. The team has been the most trusted voice for DC-area weather through everything from Snowmageddon in 2010 to Snowcrete earlier this year. That kind of hyperlocal expertise is rare and worth supporting.
