ok so I found a list of conferred degrees and the number is probably closer to ~300 - some students conferred their degrees earlier in the year (i.e. fall quarter) although it's hard to tell if these people belong to class of 2026 or 2025

this isn't public but stanford CS degrees dropped by 42% YoY. Berkeley down 61%*
only 260 degrees conferred.
you can rule out:
1. major impaction/capping - stanford doesn't do this
2. class size - this was an abnormally large class (2k+)
