Hi all,

I announced earlier this week that we are shutting down Seis.

It was a glorious run. We launched our first product in January 2022, and by May 2023 we were doing $10 million in annualized revenue. Our CAC was low, customers raved about us, and It Was All Actually Working.

Unfortunately we had some external events that didn’t go our way.

But none of that matters right now.

Right now I want you to take a look at our available team members who are looking for jobs. I don’t even think I’m even biased, I think we built a great team.

We shipped a LOT of product and managed a large consumer customer base on not _that_ many people. And after a few rounds of layoffs, the people who were with us at the end were true gems.

If you have any questions or want a reference on any of them please reach out. I am confident that you would be lucky to hire any of them.

Here’s the list of people again.

Claude Code “creator” tweets tips sourced from Claude Code team on how to better use Claude Code (twitter)

1. Do more in parallel

2. Start every complex task in plan mode. Pour your energy into the plan so Claude can 1-shot the implementation.

3. Invest in your http://CLAUDE.md. After every correction, end with: _"Update your http://CLAUDE.md so you don't make that mistake again.”

4. Create your own skills and commit them to git. Reuse across every project.

5. Don’t micromanage how to fix bugs

6. Improve your prompting: challenge Claude, scrap mediocre fixes, write detailed specs

7. Terminal & Environment setup

8. Use subagents

9. Use Claude for Data & Analytics

Microsoft CTO on why the OpenAI board really fired Sam Altman (tweet)

An email from the CTO sent to members of the Microsoft leadership team the Sunday of the weekend that Sam got fired.

His summary is:

1) Ilya wanted OpenAI to be more invested in research vs applications

2) Jakub Pachocki was making the real breakthroughs, not Ilya

3) The situation was more made more complex because Ilya was on the board, and the board had basically no experience doing any of this.

I personally have no idea how true any of this, but it’s an interesting document given who sent it and when it was sent.

Dean Ball (tweet)

“I know I rail a lot about all the flavors of AI copium but I do empathize.

“A few companies are making machines smarter in most ways than humans, and they are going to succeed. The cope is byproduct of an especially immature grieving stage, but all of us are early in our grief.”

This feels correct to me. The steady of march of humans realizing the universe was not built specifically for them (e.g. earth as center of universe, humans as distinct beings from all other life, etc.)

I don’t think this is obviously good or bad.
