Colorado Spings' utility is looking into nuclear (SMRs). They're also planning to close the local coal plant. Article link in reply.
One thing to consider is that the local coal plant community is likely to prefer nuclear as the replacement. In terms of local impacts, nuclear provides the most jobs, the highest-paying jobs, and the longest lasting jobs (80 years). It also contributes most to the local tax base.
