Trump just made his first public departure aboard the $400 million Boeing 747 gifted by Qatar that will serve as Air Force One.
The controversy isn’t the flight.
It’s that taxpayers are expected to spend hundreds of millions more upgrading the aircraft, and current plans would allow Trump to retain use of the plane after leaving office.
A gift is usually supposed to save money.
