I'm genuinely curious to learn about the mental state of people who are building models but are not in the frontier labs.
What we see is that every few weeks there are better models being released. Meanwhile, those inside these corporations are taking huge risks with computing resources under enormous pressure, trying to catch up while having no idea where the road leads.
These people are like fighters who work relentlessly.
